That is why instead of saying 'poor Earth', i feel that we should say 'poor humans', as i feel that we are destroying the earth, which also indirectly indicates that we are making ourselves suffer. After all, it is we who feel the consequences, not the innocent Earth.

conversation

1. Tell me about a time when you suffered from an injury or were in pain.

It happened when i was in primary 4 at 10 yrs old. i suffered from a severe pain in my right ear which cannot be tolerated. It was so unbearable that i could not even concentrate well in my studies at that period of time. Moreover, that year was important, because it was the streaming year. The pain also put a heavy and irritating burden during my sleep everytime and i could do nothing to stop the pain. Therefore, my parents sent me for an x-ray. After all, all the pain was due to a small pea in my ear, and till now i cannot figure it out how it got there. I had a very minor operation to get that pea out. It only took a short period of time and finally i was so relieved from the pain and i was back to normal. For two days i had to put cotton wool in my ear when bathing to prevent the water from going in.

2. The use of alternative medicine is bcoming very widespread. Why might this be so?

The first and foremost thing about alternative medicine is that it is effective in a quick and advantaegous way. Of course, the conventional medicine, that comes in creams, tablets, syrups.etc are also effective, but most people believe that they are only satisfying the immune system but not their minds. Thus, alternative medicine fulfills the full confidence and satisfaction for the particular illness.
It is also becoming widespread as it perceives illness biographically and at the same time, uses the powerful database of modern science, while the conventional medicine is consumed with minimal eduacational knowledge of what makes up the medicine, and in other words, what is in it.
Through alternative medicine, people can also have the pleasant feeling of being cured for that specific problem. For instance, in conventional medicine, one medicine can be used for about two illnesses, for e.g antibiotics, while in alternative medicine, the treatment is applied specially on the area on the body with specific ,accurate and the best medicine to be used.
For example, i once had a very bad and worst sore throat in India. Thus, instead of using western medicine, spearmint leaves , which were grown in our backyard, were mixed in warm water, after which, the water was consumed. It took away almost all the sore throat, which was so relaxing to my mind after that.

microfinancing

Hi Ms Chee...this my reply to your 3 Q's.
At first i thought that 'microfinacing' has surely got something to do with money because of the word 'finance'. After i looked in the internet, i found two meanings of it.

Delivering financial services to poor or low-income clients, including consumers and the self-employed

giving the poor a permanent access to an appropriate range of high quality financial services, including not just credit but also savings, insurance, and fund transfers.

I don't think it can eradicate poverty altogether because i saw an article and the results were, majority of the poor benefited from it but not all.So micro-financing does have some negative points such as, repaying loans.

I agree partially that Singapore takes care of the poor because if it doesn't, then there won't be any such thing as FAS.But on the other hand, (i don't know how far its true/reasonable) my elder sister told me that s'pore increases the GSTs every year and in this case, it shows that the poor are not concerned for.But on another hand, there are fund-raising activities for the needies.however, many times i walk past the yishun mrt station and i see a lot of old people colletcing cans and crushing them on the pavement just to earn a few dollars only. And they don't have medisave account too.they are also a lot of old people who sell a couple of tissue papers for just 1 buck. And I have several friends whose parents hav a very very low income which is not increased for years....until they don't even have few cents for pocket money. And also i see people who are lame(in tis case without legs) who 'travel' on the go-carts which is really pitiful. And i've been seeing it for years. But still i'm sure there are still positive things bout s'pore helping the poor.I'm just sharing the negative parts coz the positives are usually known.(sori s'poreans if u tink i'm critising ur country)

About myself=D

I'm Hephzibah from 3EA and i've a nickname. Its Hepsi=) I know its kind of like funny because it sounds like 'pepsi'.But nevermind, i find that quite unique and also fun. Haha. Here are some basic things of me:)
As u may think, actually i don't take Tamil.Hindi is my Mother Tongue but that's not what my language is also. Its Telugu which is commonly spoken in India. I'm a chocolate-lover but, the funny and weird thing about this part is that i hate anything that is chocolate-flavour.For example, chocolate ice-cream, chocolate cake, chocolate biscuits, chocolate bubble tea, chocolate milk, except for certain things(right now i forgot). So in other words, i love only the chocolate bars.Haha=D weird is'nt it??
I often do things in the last minute but truthfully i'm saying, of course i don't do that for homework...except very very rarely. So don't worry Miss Chee. haha. my hobbies are surfing the net, collecting coins/notes from different countries and collecting very old coins/notes of Singapore. To say, i don't have any favourite singer or movie because it keeps changing all the time. Maybe, Hady Mirza is a good singer for me. Actually i do have a favourite movie actor. But sad to say, that its no use telling because he's a Telugu actor:)
My resolutions for this year is, go to church weekly without failure and take good care of my eyes, such that, the degree should decrease.Hopefully, I think i'm confident that i can fullfill them and i should, because i chose the important ones=)
